Cleanings & Check-Ups

The foundation of a healthy smile — and a healthy life.

Regular cleanings and check-ups aren’t just about your teeth. They’re how we catch small problems before they become big ones, and how we keep an eye on the connections between your mouth and the rest of your body. At LIFE A.I.D., every check-up is thorough, gentle, and never rushed.

If it’s been a while — even years — please don’t feel embarrassed. A lot of our patients haven’t been to the dentist in a long time. We’re glad you’re here now.

“We never lecture, shame, or rush. Wherever you’re starting from, we’ll meet you there and help you build healthier habits at your own pace.”

What happens at a cleaning and check-up

The cleaning

Our hygienist will gently remove the plaque and tartar that brushing can’t reach, polish your teeth, and floss between them. We’ll also point out areas where you might want to focus a little more attention at home — never with judgment, just real, practical advice.

The exam

Dr. Chin will look closely at your teeth, gums, bite, and the soft tissues of your mouth — including a screening for oral cancer. We use digital X-rays (low radiation) and an intraoral camera so we can show you exactly what we see.

The conversation

Then we talk. We’ll explain what’s going well, what needs attention, and what (if anything) we’d recommend. You’ll always know your options, what they cost, and what we’d do in your shoes. No pressure, ever.

How often should you come in?

Most people benefit from a cleaning and check-up every six months — that’s how often most dental insurance plans cover them, too. Some people need more frequent visits (especially if you’ve had gum issues), and a few can stretch it out. We’ll give you a clear recommendation based on your specific situation.

What makes our check-ups different

  • We take time. No five-minute brush-and-out appointments. We actually look.
  • We use modern tools. 3D scans, digital X-rays, and intraoral cameras let us catch things smaller and sooner.
  • We look at the bigger picture. Your gum health affects your heart. Your bite affects your sleep. We connect the dots most dentists skip.
  • We explain everything. You’ll never wonder what we’re doing or why.
  • We’re gentle with nervous patients. Warm blankets, headphones, breaks whenever you need one.

New patient? Here’s what to expect.

Your first visit takes a little longer — usually about 90 minutes. We’ll do a comprehensive exam, full X-rays, a thorough cleaning, and have a real conversation about your health goals. We want to know you, not just your teeth.

You’ll get clear paperwork ahead of time, simple parking instructions, and a friendly welcome at the door. If you’re nervous, just let us know — we’ve got you.

Insurance and pricing

We’re out-of-network with most insurance plans, but we’ll file your claims and help you maximize your benefits. If you don’t have insurance, our in-house membership plan covers your cleanings, exams, and X-rays — plus discounts on everything else. Ask us about it.
